1Rick Salter and Salty Dog Racing traveled to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois) on Saturday night for a $2,000-to-win, UMP Super Late Model event.

A strong field of thirty-one entries filled the pit area, and after qualifying fifth fastest in his group Rick finished sixth in his heat race, which left him short of transferring to the feature. He would go on to finish fourth in his b-main to earn the 20th starting spot for the finale. Salter struggled in the 30 lap feature, ultimately registering a 22nd place finish in the final rundown.

September 12th, 2014 - Mixed Bag of Results for Rick Salter at Belle-Clair
1Rick Salter returned to Belle-Clair Speedway (Belleville, Illinois) on Friday night for a busy racing slate.

The night began with the make-up feature from last weekend's rainout. Salter raced to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Mark Voigt, Mike Schulte, and Ryan Little.

In the evening's scheduled Weekly Racing Series program, Rick finished second in his heat race, sending him to the dash. A third place finish in the dash locked him into the third starting spot for the feature. Salter was running second, chasing Rusty Schlenk for the lead, when disaster struck. As the duo began to work traffic, a lapped car slowed against the straightaway wall and left Salter with nowhere to go. Making contact, Rick was left with heavy damage to the right-rear of his #1s Salty Dog Racing/Barry Wright Super Late Model, and was forced to retire from the remainder of the event.

1As a result, the team entered a single event on Saturday evening at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois). A field of eighteen Super Late Models converged on the oval for another Weekly Racing Series program. Salter scored a heat race win, and later finished second in the dash to lock into the second starting spot for the feature. In the main event, Rick ran second for much of the race before ultimately crossing the finish line in third behind race winner Michael Kloos, and Matt Weidner.

A stout field of twenty-eight UMP Super Late Models registered for the $2,000-to-win program, and Rick started his outing with a high pill draw to position him starting sixth in his heat race. He advanced to a third place finish in the heat race to lock into the twelfth starting position on the feature grid. August 16th, 2014 - Salter Recovers to Finish Sixth at Belle-Clair
1After having the past two weekend's off courtesy of Mother Nature, Rick Salter resumed competition on Friday night at Belle-Clair Speedway (Belleville, Illinois).

Twenty-two Super Late Models were set to do battle, as Rick started his outing by charging from seventh to second in heat race action to move on to the dash. He won the dash to lock into the pole position for the main event.

In the feature, Salter assumed the point at the drop of the green flag. He set the pace out front until lap twelve, when he jumped the cushion and had to restart at the tail of the field. However, Salter sliced through the field in his #1s Salty Dog Racing/Barry Wright Super Late Model to cross the finish line in the sixth position.
