Via his heat race finish he started sixth in the b-main and passed four cars to finish second, which earned him the twentieth starting spot in the main event. The team decided to use the main event to try an experimental setup on the car. Unfortunately the setup didn't work, and Salter retired early from the event to a 21st place finish.

Saturday's program saw the ante increased as a $2,500-to-win purse was on the line for the UMP Pro Crate Late Models. Thirty-eight competitors registered for the event, and difficulties in qualifying left him starting fifth in his heat race. He advanced to a fourth place finish, which left him starting second in the b-main. After finishing third in the consolation event Salter earned the twenty-first starting spot for the finale. As the race went green he began working his way forward and was up to the ninth position with ten laps to go, when he spun from contention. He would retire from the event to a fifteenth place finish.

The event concluded the season for the team. Rick and everyone at Salty Dog Racing would like to thank everyone for their support during the 2012 season, and they look forward to seeing everyone in 2013.
