September 9, 2017 - Bob Gardner Attends Worl 100 at Eldora Speedway
Kicking off the 47th annual World 100, Bob Gardner made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night for UMP DIRTcar sanctioned weekend. Drawing a stout field of 105 Super Late Models, Gardner recorded a 9th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the opening night $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Bob logged a 14th place outing.

The following night for another round of preliminary features, Gardner brought out a caution early in his heat race after breaking a water pump. After getting the problems under the hood fixed before the start of his B-Main, Bob landed a 12th place outing in the 12-lap consolation event ending his night early.

Bringing the World 100 weekend to a close on Saturday night, Bob placed 13th in his heat giving him one last shot at the $50,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Slated to start near the tail of his B-Main, Gardner loaded up early and watched the remaining events unfold from his trailer.

September 3, 2017 -Top 5 Finish at Spoon River Speedway
On Friday night Bob Gardner returned to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) for the season finale. With 23 Super Late Models on hand, Gardner followed up the fifth fastest time in qualifying with a 4th place finish in his heat. Earning the 13th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Bob improved one spot to place 12th.

Sunday night brought Gardner to Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Illinois) for the 27th annual Fall Nationals. Following a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Mike Glasscock, Gardner posted a 4th place finish in the feature trailing Ryan Unzicker, Mike Glasscock, and Jose Parga across the finish line with Russ Adams coming in 5th.

August 25, 2017 - Gardner Rallies Into Top 10 Finish After Near Flip at FCR
Bob Gardner visited Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Friday evening competing in a field of 19 Super Late Models. After battling for a podium finish in his heat race, Bob suffered a flat right-rear tire that nearly tipped him over after making hard contact with the wall. Scrambling to get the car back in shape for the feature, Gardner charged from the tail of the field improving eleven spots to place 8th.

August 19, 2017 - Top 5 Finish at Peoria Speedway
Thursday night found Bob Gardner in action at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the Thursday Night Thunder. After laying down the fastest time overall in a field of 19 Super Late Models, Bob landed a 2nd place finish behind Kevin Weaver in his heat locking him into the 3rd-starting position for the feature. Destroying the rear-end deck of the car by lap 10, Gardner was an early retiree from the main event.

The following night Gardner headed to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) competing in a field of 14 Super Late Models. Following the second quickest lap in time trials, Bob charged to a heat race win positioning him 2nd on the starting grid for the feature. Running into more trouble in the A-Main, Bob was forced pitside while leading due to brake troubles.

On Saturday Bob wrapped up the weekend at Peoria Speedway (Peoria, Illinois) for the regular night of racing. Moving up three spots in his heat race, Gardner landed a 4th place finish earning him the pole position for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 5 finish, Bob Gardner posted a 5th place spot behind Todd Bennet, Russ Adams, Matt Shannon, and Roger Rebholz.

August 5, 2017 - Pair of 4th Place Finishes Over the Weekend
Bob Gardner returned to action on Friday at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) for the regular night of racing. Following the second fastest time in his qualifying group, Gardner registered a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Ryan Unzicker locking him into the 4th-starting spot for the feature. Holding his spot for the entire distance of the 25-lapper, Bob posted a 4th place finish behind McKay Wenger, Ryan Unzicker, and Kevin Weaver with Travis Stemler coming in 5th.

Saturday night found Gardner at Peoria Speedway (Peoria, Illinois) for the Rocket Tire Service Night. Bringing home another Top 5 finish in the A-Main, Bob posted a 4th place spot behind Billy Drake, Todd Bennet, and Roger Rebholz.

July 29, 2017 - Bob Gardner Attends Prairie Dirt Classic at FALS
Friday night brought Bob Gardner to Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing a stout field of 65 Super Late Models for the 28th annual Prairie Dirt Classic, Gardner laid down the fifteenth fastest in his qualifying group locking him into the 8th-starting position for the FK Rod Ends preliminary feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top 10 finish, Bob slipped back to a 11th place outing in the 25-lapper.

Returning on Saturday night looking to lock his spot into the $30,000-to-win finale via his B-Main, Bob logged an 8th place finish sending him into the Prairie Dirt Shootout non-qualifiers feature. With the winner of the 25-lapper given the option to take the $2,000 payday or join main event from the tail of the field, Bob Gardner gained two positions to place 12th.

July 15, 2017 - Gardner Finishes Sixth in Hell Tour Point Standings
Kicking off Champions Week, Bob Gardner was one of 28 Super Late Models registered in for battle at Hartford Speedway (Hartford, Michigan) for the final five nights in the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour. After timing in third fastest in his group, Gardner broke a fan belt in his final lap of qualifying forcing him to pull out his secondary car for his heat race. Coming from the tail of the field, Bob secured his spot into the feature with a 5th place finish in his heat. Rolling off 14th for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Gardner held his spot for all 40-laps recording a 14th place outing.

After Mother Nature washed out the Hell Tour event on Wednesday at Thunderbird Speedway (Muskegon, Michigan), Gardner traveled to Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Michigan) on Thursday for the 29th annual Wood Tic weekend. Moving up one spot in his heat race, Bob landed a 3rd place finish positioning him 11th on the starting grid for the feature. With $5,000 on the line, Gardner dropped back to a 17th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

Making the final stop of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Gardner headed to Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) on Friday for the two-day finale. Dropping one spot in his heat race, Bob logged a 4th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the feature, Gardner landed a runner-up finish behind Devin Shiels earning hi the 20th-starting position for the A-Main. Passing six cars, Bob Gardner reeled in a 14th place finish.

On Saturday night for the annual Birthday Race, Gardner timed in third fastest in his qualifying group positioning him on the pole of his heat. Failing to place in Top 3, Bob transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the main event. With a provisional available, Gardner scratched from the consolation event and rolled off 22nd for the feature. Coming two spots shy of a Top 10 finish, Bob Gardner stormed through the field ten spots notching a 12th place outing.

After entering Saturday's finale in eighth in the point standings, Garnder finished in sixth after improving ten positions in the $10,000-to-win A-Main.

July 9, 2017 - Top 5 Finish With Hell Tour at Kickapoo Speedway
Opening the third week with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Bob Gardner visited Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) on Monday for the $5,000 top prize. Following the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, Bob scored a runner-up finish behind Kyle Bronson in his heat locking him into the 5th-starting spot for the A-Main. On Tuesday night with 36 Super Late Models signed in at Fayette County Speedway (Brownstown, Illinois) for the Fourth of July special, Gardner registered a 6th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Failing to place in the Top 2 in his 12-lap consolation event, Bob relied on a provisional to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Coming from the tail of the field, Bob Gardner advanced through the field nine spots reeling in a 13th place outing.

Following a rainout on Wednesday night at Belle-Clair Speedway (Belleville, Illinois), Bob returned to action on Thursday at Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois) for the 37th running of the Herald & Review 100. Edging his way into the feature with the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat race, Gardner earned the 16th-starting spot for the main event. With 100-laps to gain some ground, Bob reeled in a 12th place finish.

Friday night brought a stout field of 40 Hell Tour competitors to Farmer City Speedway (Farmer City, Illinois) for the $10,000 top prize. After falling one spot shy of transfer spot in his heat race, Bob slipped back to a 14th place outing in his B-Main forcing him to rely on a provisional into the feature. Starting on the tail, Gardner advanced through the field eight positions reeling in a 14th place outing.

On Saturday night with 32 cars signed in at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois) for the 20th round of the Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Gardner placed 5th in his heat locking him on the pole of his B-Main. Cruising to a 12-lap consolation victory, Bob earned the 17th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Moving up two positions, Bob Gardner logged a 15th place finish.

Closing out the third week in the Hell Tour, Gardner visited Kickapoo Speedway (Danville, Illinois) on Sunday.  After posting the fastest time overall in qualifying, Bob scratched from his heat and B-Main due to mechanical trouble. July 2, 2017 - Top 10 Finish in Hell Tour Event at Charleston Speedway
Piloting the GraybaR #4G Super Late Model, Bob Gardner opened the third week of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour on Monday night by traveling to Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tennessee) competing in a field of 26 cars. Taking the Top 5 out of the heats, Gardner came up one spot shy with a 6th place outing. Starting on the pole of his B-Main, Bob cruised to 12-lap consolation win earning him the 16th-starting spot for the feature. Moving up three positions on a track that saw very limited passing, Gardner posted a 13th place finish.

On Tuesday night Gardner returned to the Land of Lincoln for the $5,000 top prize at Charleston Speedway (Charleston, Illinois). After breaking his rear axle in hot-laps, Bob was able to make it out just in time for qualifying session after his crew worked to get the axle replaced. For the 13th round of the Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Gardner visited Plymouth Speedway (Plymouth, Indiana) on Thursday evening.  With 22 Super Late Models on hand, Bob qualified fourth fastest in his qualifying group before scoring a 4th place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 10th for the feature, Gardner fell two spots posting a 12th place outing.

Returning to action on Saturday night after wet conditions cancelled the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour and World Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series showdown opener at Terra Haute Action Track (Terra Haute, Indiana) on Friday, Gardner was one of 41 Super Late Models signed in at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri). Losing two spots in his heat race, Bob logged a 9th place outing sending him into the B-Main. Failing to place in the Top 2 in his consolation event, Bob was granted a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Starting on the tail of the field, Bob improved seven spots in the 50-lapper registering a 18th place outing.

Sunday night brought Bob to Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Illinois) for the 15th stop of the Hell Tour. Gaining one spot in his heat race, Gardner recorded a 6th place finish sending him into the B-Main. After get spun around on the opening lap of his consolation event, Bob fell short of a transfer spot forcing him to rely on a provisional again to make the feature. Rolling off 18th, Bob Gardner reeled in a 15th place outing.

June 25, 2017 - Bob Gardner Begins Tri State Week at Jacksonville Speedway
Bob Gardner returned with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour on Tuesday night kicking off the second week of action at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Illinois). With 23 Super Late Models registered in for the ILMO Propane Wildman Kelly Classic, Gardner secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win feature with a 5th place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 13th for the feature, Bob advanced four positions in the 40-lap affair reeling in a 9th place finish.

The following night Gardner was one of 31 Super Late Models signed in at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Illinois) for the $5,000 top prize. Pulling out his primary car for the first time on the Hell Tour, Bob fell short of a transfer position in his heat race with a 8th place outing. Needing 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the show, Gardner registered a 15th place finish forcing him to rely on a provisional to make the feature. Starting in 19th, Bob charged through the field eight positions to place 11th.  

The ninth stop of the Hell Tour brought 33 entries to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois) on Friday night. Losing one spot in his 10-lap heat race, Bob logged a 5th place outing transferring him into the B-Main. Coming short of a 2nd place finish or better in his B-Main, Gardner had to rely on a provisional to make the feature. With 40-laps to gain some ground, Bob gained five spot registering a 14th place finish.

On Saturday night at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois), Gardner secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 16th for the feature, Bob jumped up two positions in the 40-lapper recording a 14th place outing.

Closing out the second week of the Hell Tour on Sunday, Gardner headed to Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt, Indiana) for another chance at a $5,000 payday. Following the third fastest time in his qualifying group, Bob placed 2nd in his heat race behind Billy Moyer locking him into the 6th-starting position for the feature. June 18, 2017 - Gardner Closes Opening Week of Hell Tour with 4 Top 10 Finishes
Kicking off 32nd running of the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals Hell Tour, Bob Gardner headed to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) on Wednesday night for the Hoosier Dirt Classic. In a field of 32 Super Late Models, Gardner registered a 6th place finish in his heat race giving him another shot at the opening night feature with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 2, Bob landed a 3rd place spot forcing him to rely on a provisional into the show. With $4,000 on the line, Bob Gardner improved three positions in the 40-lapper posting a 16th place outing.

Thursday night brought 29 Hell Tour entries to Kankakee County Speedway (Kankakee, Illinois) for another $5,000-to-win feature. For the third round of action in the Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Gardner headed to Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Illinois) on Friday for the $7,500 top prize. Following the third fastest time in his group, Bob charged to a 10-lap heat race win locking him on the pole for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 Finish, Bob slipped back to an 8th place outing in the 40-lap affair.

On Saturday Bob was one of 29 Super Late Models signed in at Peoria Speedway (Peoria, Illinois) where he led the night off with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. Holding his spot in his heat race, Gardner scored a 3rd place finish earning him the 7th-starting spot for the feature. With storms rolling in as the race started, officials were forced to call the race with only 20-laps completed. It was decided days after the event the race would be deemed a full show and Gardner was credited with a 9th place finish.

Wrapping up the opening week of the Hell Tour, Gardner stopped at Daugherty Speedway (Boswell, Indiana) on Sunday. Timing in second quick behind Mike Spatola, Bob went on to place 2nd behind Spatola in his heat race locking him into the 6th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win feature. Breaking into the Top 5 on a track that developed really rough conditions, Bob Gardner scored a 5th place finish in the 30-lapper after officials made the decision to cut the race in half to save racers equipment. He trailed Shannon Babb, Billy Moyer, Bobby Pierce, and Jason Feger across the finish line.

June 3, 2017 - Gardner Lands a Pair of 7th Place Finishes
Behind the wheel of the Oberlander Electric #4G Super Late Model, Bob Gardner visited Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Friday competing in a field of 15 cars. Following the second fastest time overall, Gardner charged to a heat race win positioning him 2nd on the starting grid for the feature. Falling two spots short of a Top 5 finish, Bob slipped back to a 7th place outing.

The following night brought Gardner to I-55 Raceway (Pevely, Missouri) making his first start of the season at the speedway. After timing in fastest overall in his group, Bob posted a 3rd place finish in his heat race locking him into the 9th-starting position for the A-Main. Moving up two positions in the 25-lap affair, Bob Gardner reeled in a 7th place finish.

May 28, 2017 - Top 5 Finish in Secondary Car at Spoon River Speedway
After Mother Nature cancelled Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Friday night, Bob Gardner opened the Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the Memorial Day Roundup. Starting the night off with sixth fastest time in a field of 22 Super Late Models, Bob went on to lock his spot into the feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. With $2,000 on the line, Gardner fell three spots in the 30-lapper registering a 12th place outing.

On Sunday night Bob broke out his secondary car for the $1,500-to win special at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois). Following a 4th place finish in his heat race, Gardner improved seven spots in the A-Main reeling in a 4th place finish behind Mike Spatola, Ryan Unzicker, and Kolby Vandenbergh with Rick Standridge coming in 5th.

May 18, 2017 - The Pink Panther Goes Cyber
Washington, Illinois racer, Bob Gardner is the latest addition to the MSR Mafia team and has launched a brand-new website at www.BobGardner4g.com.

Known as "The Pink Panther," Bob started his career with a successful career in Motorcross before making the jump to the Dirt Late Model ranks.

He is currently in his ninth year of Dirt Late Model racing and pilots the Oberlander Electric #4G Longhorn Chassis/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model. He's had a busy start to the season with over 20 events already competed across the country. (Heath Lawson photo)
